This week
was awesome. We saw miracles EVERY SINGLE DAY and Heavenly Father is blessing
us. We had a little disappointment because our investigator decided to smoke 24
hours before his baptismal interview but that’s OK and we are being patient. If
you remember, our zone goal is 81 baptisms. Every companionship needs at least
6 baptisms. We put the goal of 7. And we have... one in the whole month! So we
have been patiently working as hard as we can (patience isn’t waiting!) for God
to give us miracles. And this week. We found them. 6 people progressing towards
the 30th of August for our White Day (Dia Blanco) with the whole stake. That would be a
blessing to bring 6 people to that. I am reminded time and time again about
patience and mercy and trusting in the Lords timing. Just do your part, and He
will do His.
I
am loving being a missionary. I realized yesterday that I have 11 months in
Guatemala. Doesn’t seem like even 3. Can't believe we are already in August.
Time goes by too fast. It is the best time in my life.
Teaching
and working like crazy. We were given almost half of the neighboring area of
the sisters in my district so we have to get to know all that this week and
teach their investigator that lives there so that he can get baptized this
week.
Last
night we had a Mormon Night in the chapel. There were 3 wards there and it was
PACKED. So cool to see so many people there. My convert Katy got to share her testimony. It was so cool to hear it and she
expressed a ton of appreciation towards us and the members. She wants to go on
a mission soon and will be going to the temple at the end of the month. We had
a small miracle there as well as we found a 9 year old that has not been
baptized. Those are always tender mercies and I know God trusts us. They showed
a cool video from the 80’s about the Plan of Salvation and missionary work. It
was great and explained what we believed really simply.
Don’t
have much time to write today but would like to ask a couple things for an
email or mail. Conference talks from Elder Maxwell (in usb or just through
email), beef jerky, and a hymnal in English. And khaki pants. We are allowed to
wear those now.
On the 27th Russell M. Nelson comes here to speak to us. How cool is
that!!??
Love you
guys so much. Have a wonderful week and always remember Him!
Elder Smith
